Dementia Carers Count (DCC) is a national UK charity dedicated to family and friends who are caring for someone with dementia. DCC provides education, skills development and therapeutic support to carers, who really need support but often find that it just isn’t there for them. All our services are designed and delivered by expert qualified health and care professionals in partnership with carers.

Family carers tell us that our services change their lives, and people who attend our courses make profound and lasting friendships with each other. DCC’s courses, virtual services and online resources are designed and delivered by experts in their field. We know that carers need us, and we want to make sure that what we offer is at the cutting edge. Our in-depth research and close work with family carers enables us to design services that concentrate on them and their needs.

DCC aims to be the ‘go to’ place for family dementia carers in the UK. Our services are available to carers across the country, and from every community. Our driving ambition is to create a national ‘home’ for family carers of people with dementia. That ‘home’ will be the Dementia Carers Centre; a real as well as symbolic focal point for family carers, from where eventually all of our courses will be run. We are constantly reviewing what we offer and developing new areas, to bring carers the best support available.

Alongside our unique take on practical help for family dementia carers, we also work in partnership with other carer and dementia-focused organisations. Together with the wider dementia community we can help carers and the people they care for, on every level.

DCC is here to support family dementia carers into the future, whatever that may hold.
